Privacy Policy

What personal data JackpotJill.co.uk collects, why, how long we keep it, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it under Australian and EU law.

1. Who We Are

JackpotJill.co.uk is an independent online casino review platform operated from Sydney, Australia. We are not a casino. We do not operate gambling services, take deposits, or process withdrawals. We do not hold player accounts. The scope of data processing on this site is correspondingly narrow — we are an informational publisher, and our privacy obligations reflect that.

The casino reviewed on this site — Jackpot Jill Casino — is a separate legal entity operated by a third party under a Curaçao licence. Its privacy practices are governed by its own privacy policy, on its own site, and are entirely outside our control.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

When you contact us by email, we receive:

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you visit any page on this site, our hosting infrastructure and analytics tools automatically collect:

We do not collect your real name, home address, phone number, financial details, or government identifiers through automatic mechanisms. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles. We do not run remarketing. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third Parties Who Process Data on Our Behalf

We rely on a small number of processors to run the site. Each has its own privacy policy, which supersedes ours for the specific processing they do:

Where these processors transfer data internationally, we rely on their standard contractual clauses and the adequacy mechanisms they publish. A full list of sub-processors for each third party is on their respective documentation.

5. How Long We Keep Data

Category Retention period
Contact-form submissions and email correspondence12 months after last interaction, unless longer is needed to resolve an ongoing matter
Server access logs (full IP)90 days

Editorial records required by correction policyRetained as long as the corresponding article is live, for audit of the correction log

When a retention period ends, the data is deleted or anonymised. Backups are rotated on a shorter cycle and expire naturally.

6. Your Rights

6.1 Under Australian law (Privacy Act 1988, APPs)

As an Australian resident, you have the right to:

6.2 Under EU/UK law (GDPR / UK GDPR), where applicable

If you are a resident of the EU or the UK, you additionally have rights to data portability, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and the right to be forgotten (erasure), subject to the usual legal exceptions.

6.3 How to exercise your rights

Email [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days. We will verify your identity before disclosing any personal data. The process is documented on the contact page.

Exercising your rights is free of charge. If a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive — for example, repetitive requests for the same data — we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act, as permitted by applicable law.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, security, and basic site function. A full cookie list, the purpose of each cookie, the retention, and how to manage them in your browser is on the cookie policy page. You can block or clear non-essential cookies at any time from your browser settings.

8. International Transfers

Our primary processors (Cloudflare, Google Analytics) operate global infrastructure. This means personal data may be transferred to, or accessed from, jurisdictions outside Australia — typically the United States and Europe. These transfers are covered by the processors' standard contractual clauses and adequacy mechanisms as disclosed in their own privacy policies.

Where you have the legal right to object to international transfer, you can exercise it by emailing the privacy address above. In practice, objecting typically means asking us to delete the data rather than restrict its location.

9. Security

The site runs over TLS 1.2+ with modern cipher suites. The admin side of the hosting infrastructure uses two-factor authentication. Contact-form submissions and email correspondence are stored in a mailbox protected by provider-side encryption and 2FA. Access to personal data within the small team is limited to the individuals who need it for the task at hand.

No online system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Australian law, and any equivalent obligations under GDPR where they apply.

10. Minors

This site, the review, and all casinos discussed on it are for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information to this site, please email [email protected] and we will delete the submission. Our broader position on minors and gambling is on the responsible gambling page.

11. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change — for example, when we add or remove a processor, when retention periods are revised, or when legal obligations shift. When a material change is made, we update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will add a short notice at the top of the homepage and the policy page for at least 30 days after the change.

This document is the current, authoritative version of our privacy practices. Historic versions are available on request through the contact page.
